MECO

Meco is a university project about re-usefulness. It is a project of turning household 'waste' into brand new products.

Meco focuses on changing/influencing the behaviours of adolescence and young adults in regards to plastic waste and recycling. The outcomes are a few small, fashionable bags for young people to carry for almost all occasions.

The bags are made 95% out of recycled materials from household wastes. The bag bodies and logos are made from HDPE (milk bottle) and LDPE (milk bottle lids). Straps are hand yarned plastic bags. Screws, bag closures and small attachments are sourced from bag making stores. The bags are designed to be easily assembled and disassembled to ensure the whole products can still be up-cycled after use.
