POMELO

Pomelo is a university project aiming to reduce the amount of food waste in landfill by providing accessible composting options in localised areas.

Food waste the issue the most pressing issue with consumer society, Pomelo aims to tackle this by creating a seamless connection between people who want to compost and those who can. Pomelo simplifies composting whilst aiding the shift in our cultural mindset.

Pomelo is a mobile application to help combat this issue. Locally it creates a sharing community by connecting individuals who wish to compost their food scraps but why the facilities to locals who have. On an industry level, it connects restaurants, cafes and supermarkets with local farmers. Reducing the amount of food waste in landfill, at the same time fertilising soil for better fresh produce production.
